At Alexander Montessori School, multilingualism is part of everyday learning within a diverse community of families from 6 of the world’s 7 continents who speak 20+ languages. From the earliest years, students are immersed in meaningful language experiences through a native Spanish immersion program in the ECE Montessori environment, while older learners continue to build fluency through dedicated Spanish instruction and classroom materials. For students developing English, ESOL and Learning Lab provide personalized support in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, helping every child grow in confidence, communication, and connection to the world around them.

Alexander Montessori’s Preschool Spanish Immersion Program combines the multi-sensory Montessori approach with individualized learning, offering families a leading Spanish immersion preschool in Miami where children are surrounded by bilingual role models and can follow one of three pathways: Spanish Immersion, Naturalistic Spanish Immersion, or a daily 30-minute group lesson in Spanish to build confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Preschool Spanish immersion
In Preschool, children are introduced to Spanish at the age when language learning comes most naturally. Through a hands-on Montessori environment, they build confidence in listening, speaking, and early communication skills as Spanish becomes part of their daily experience.
Early exposure helps children absorb language more easily, while also strengthening cognitive flexibility, cultural awareness, and confidence. With Spanish Immersion offered in five Preschool classrooms, families can choose a learning path that supports strong bilingual foundations from the very start.
Bilingual learning benefits
Learning Spanish from an early age helps children strengthen more than communication skills. In a Montessori environment, bilingual learning supports creativity, flexible thinking, problem-solving, and growing independence — all qualities that help students thrive across the curriculum.
As children build confidence in a second language, they also develop the habits of curious, capable learners. This reflects Alexander Montessori School’s commitment to nurturing independent thinkers who are prepared to grow academically, socially, and with confidence.
Social language benefits
Through Spanish immersion, Preschool children grow in confidence as they learn to express themselves, connect with others, and engage with a culture beyond their own. As a Spanish immersion school in Miami, Alexander Montessori offers a personalized Montessori environment where early language exposure helps children build empathy, communication skills, and an open-minded understanding of the world around them.
Learning another language at a young age also lays the foundation for future multilingualism, giving children the confidence and capacity to keep growing as global learners.

Learning Lab
Targeted literacy support in English for advanced readers and learners who benefit from extra reinforcement, including those building confidence in English.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) provides structured support for learners who are developing English as a new language. The programme focuses on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, and writing, while also helping students build confidence in everyday communication and school life.Offered from Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade, ESOL is coordinated with classroom instruction so that language development strengthens progress across the wider curriculum.
Language support at Alexander Montessori School begins with understanding each learner’s starting point. For ESOL, this includes an initial assessment followed by a parent conference to review individual needs and recommend the most appropriate pathway. This personalised approach reflects the school’s wider Montessori philosophy: meeting learners where they are, building confidence step by step, and helping them grow into capable, independent communicators. Additional support is also available during the summer through the ESOL Lab.

By offering diverse language experiences, students develop the confidence, skills, and adaptability needed to succeed.

Personalized support through ESOL and Learning Lab helps build confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, ensuring targeted guidance for both language learners and students who benefit from extra literacy reinforcement.
Rooted in AMS’s personalised, multi-sensory approach, the Preschool Spanish Immersion Programme offers early bilingual learning through Spanish immersion and daily instruction, helping children grow as confident, culturally aware communicators.
It is incredibly rewarding to witness our students’ growth in the Spanish program. Through early immersion and meaningful experiences, children engage with the language in a natural and progressive way, integrating it into their everyday learning. Over time, Spanish becomes an essential tool that supports each student’s all-round development.
