Rooted in Maria Montessori’s philosophy and thoughtfully designed for young children, our Toddler curriculum nurtures independence, curiosity, and confidence through hands-on exploration. In a carefully prepared environment, children grow through daily routines that encourage movement, concentration, communication, and joyful self-discovery, reflecting a strong Montessori curriculum Miami families value.
Building rhythm, listening, and joyful expression
Music introduces toddlers to sound, movement, and self-expression in a joyful, age-appropriate way. Through songs, rhythm, and group participation, children develop listening skills, coordination, confidence, and a growing awareness of pattern and language.
Hands-on learning that nurtures independence
Instructional time in the Toddler Program is designed to guide children through purposeful, hands-on experiences that match their natural curiosity. In a carefully prepared Montessori environment, toddlers build concentration, coordination, order, and independence as they learn through exploration and repetition at their own pace.
Encouraging creativity through sensory exploration
Art gives toddlers opportunities to explore materials, textures, and colors while expressing themselves freely. These experiences support fine motor development, creativity, focus, and confidence, while allowing children to discover the joy of making something on their own.
Active discovery beyond the classroom
Outdoor learning is an important part of the toddler day, giving children space to move, explore, and develop physically in a natural and engaging setting. Through both individual and social activities, toddlers strengthen coordination, independence, and confidence while enjoying fresh air and active play.
Growing with confidence, connection, and self-awareness
Social-emotional learning helps toddlers feel secure, understood, and supported as they begin to navigate relationships and routines in our Montessori preschool Miami community. With gentle guidance from teachers, children learn to express feelings, build trust, develop social skills, and gain the self-confidence and self-discipline that form the foundation for future learning.

At Alexander Montessori School, progress in the Toddler Program begins with nurturing each child’s natural curiosity, independence, and confidence.
Because every child develops at their own pace, teachers closely observe each child’s growth and guide learning according to individual readiness and needs. As toddlers gain increasing order, coordination, concentration, and independence, they build the essential foundations for a confident transition into Preschool and beyond.
Families stay closely connected to this progress through parent-teacher conferences, newsletters, Friday folders, and emails, creating a strong partnership between school and home and ensuring that each child’s development is shared in a meaningful and supportive way.
Rooted in the Montessori method, Alexander Montessori School’s Toddler Program helps children build essential life competencies through purposeful, hands-on learning in a carefully prepared environment. As toddlers choose activities, repeat tasks, and participate in consistent daily routines, they develop independence, concentration, focus, responsibility, and time awareness in ways that feel natural and meaningful.
This Montessori foundation also supports strong social and emotional growth. Through guided interactions and child-centered experiences, toddlers strengthen communication skills, social awareness, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and critical thinking—helping them become confident, capable, and increasingly self-directed learners.
Youngest learners begin building bilingual confidence through Spanish immersion in the Toddler Program, where the Montessori method integrates Spanish naturally into daily routines, practical life activities, and hands-on Montessori work.
Because Montessori education follows each child’s stage of readiness, toddlers absorb language in meaningful, everyday contexts that feel engaging and natural, developing early listening, comprehension, communication, and cultural awareness as they grow into confident bilingual learners at Alexander Montessori School, a Spanish immersion school Miami families value.
Our expectation of every child is simply this: to be the best that they can be, and to be good to each other and to the world. Every child who walks into our classroom is unique, and we love each and every one of them.
