English learning support

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Learning Lab

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

ESOL program provides focused English language instruction for children with limited English proficiency. Through listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, and writing, the program helps children build communication skills in English while supporting cultural adjustment and success in the classroom.

Each child begins with an ESOL assessment and parent conference so support can be tailored to individual needs and closely aligned with daily classroom learning. Offered during the school year and in the summer, ESOL is a valuable on-campus resource that helps children with little or no English background grow with confidence and thrive.

Learning Lab

Designed to strengthen reading development in English, Learning Lab supports both advanced learners and those who benefit from additional guidance, including children whose first language is not English.

Led by an experienced Reading Clinician, the program uses specialized reading tools and audio-visual resources to build fluency, reinforce comprehension, and grow confidence through personalized support.

Mrs. Tirse

My daughter graduated from Alexander as president of the student council. She started middle school not knowing a single person and she carried that Alexander confidence right through the door with her. I credit this school for who she is today.
