Lower School

Students in Lower School, for ages 6 – 9 (Grades 1 – 3), are part of a three-year Montessori classroom community, where students remain with the same teacher and peers across multiple years. This unique multi-age environment allows children to learn at their own pace, build lasting relationships, and naturally develop confidence as they transition from learner to leader.

Rooted in Montessori philosophy, children are guided from “help me to help myself” toward “so I may help others,” cultivating independence, responsibility, and respect for the community around them.

Guided by an experienced Reading Clinician, the Learning Lab uses a range of reading tools and audio-visual resources to strengthen literacy skills, build confidence, and support steady progress in reading.

Serving students through Grade 5, the program develops listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, and writing while reinforcing the skills and concepts taught in the regular English curriculum.

Each student begins with an ESOL assessment followed by a parent conference, where individual needs and the most appropriate support pathway are discussed, ensuring a personalized approach to language growth and classroom success.
