Alexander Montessori School families showed their much-appreciated support of the Miami Dolphins Special Teams driven by Chevrolet community service project, sending care packages to the troops who serve our country.  The Miami Dolphins continue their commitment to their fans by being active participants in the community on September 11th, the National Day of Service and Remembrance, with this service project.

Ana Kucera, Alexander alumna and daughter of Mrs. Mary Kucera (Lower School Teacher), is the Coordinator for Miami Dolphins Volunteer Programs, and created this project for the Miami Dolphins Special Teams volunteers in 2011.  Alexander Montessori School was one of the first community supporters of this event, which has grown each year.  Special Teams volunteers successfully collected, packed, and mailed more than 1000 care packages on September 11th, 2013!

Mrs. Kucera organized the Alexander Montessori School participation, as our families donated cans of soup and personal items for care packages.  Lower School and Middle School Prep students, with the guidance of their Language Arts Teachers, showed their appreciation of our nation's heroes by writing letters of support and gratitude, as well as colorful personal notes and pictures for the troops that were included in the care packages.  The school and the parents participating in this project have provided the opportunity for the students to experience the Alexander motto, "Help me to help myself so I may help others!"
