Have you heard about our "Express Yourself T-Shirt Day" fundraiser for the Bahamas? This is a student-led initiative to collect donations for the Bahamas taking place every Wednesday until November 20th. Here is a letter about the campaign from Kory Brown.
Dear parents, students, Teachers, and Staff:
My name is Kory Brown I am in Third Grade in Room Two. I was working on my Current Event and I read an article about an NBA player named Buddy Hield. Buddy is from The Bahamas. After Hurricane Dorian struck, Buddy went to The Bahamas to help his family and other people. I know our school already collects stuff, but more people still need help and we can’t forget about them.
Mr. McGhee agreed to my idea, that to help raise money to help families from The Bahamas, we could have an EXTRA “Express Yourself T Shirt Day” - on each Wednesday from October 23rd through November 20th. For any donation (the suggested donation is $1), you can wear a non-uniform shirt with your favorite sport, music, or art. Express yourself and help The Bahamas!
My dad‘s company, Dadeland Oral Surgery, will match your donations up to $500. If you have a company, you can join us in the match and we will let the school community know. The collected donations will be sent to the Red Cross to help The Bahamas. Thank you!
