The Beach Clean-Up at Crandon Beach Park on April 15th was a huge success! Alexander Montessori had 71 participants who removed 85 pounds of trash from the park.  We exceeded our goal of 60 participants.  Miami-Dade County Park Staff provided us with a shelter, gloves, burlap bags, and biodegradable bags for the trash collection.

Prizes (metal reusable water bottles and scavenger hunt games) were awarded to the participants who collected the most bottle caps, most trash, and strangest trash. Overall, it was a fun and rewarding time for all who attended.  The Park Staff was very grateful and said they would love to host our clean-up group again at any and all of Miami-Dade parks.
