Reading books aloud to children is part of the magic of childhood. There is something that is unforgettable about how words of a story can create a movie in your mind and make characters come to life.

Dear Alexander Montessori Parents and Families:
As we concluded our school year, having witnessed the resilience of our Staff, students, and families, and the joy of our 5th Graders and Kindergarteners as we “graduated” in new ways, we could not help but be torn. As a school, we celebrated an ending and beginning in a novel way. At the same time, as a nation, we are experiencing suffering and turmoil, which has its roots in our history of racial injustice.
Parenting is a full-time job! It is demanding, fulfilling, exhausting, and rewarding. There are ups and downs, tears and laughter, frustrations, and pure joy. To say parents are on a constant roller coaster ride is pretty accurate. So it was refreshing to hear Parent Coach, Meghan Leahy, share tips on how to manage these ebbs and flows and address conflicts.
Weeks go by and the heaviness ceases to be lifted. These are certainly unprecedented times we are living. Life as we once knew it came to an abrupt PAUSE and shifted into a new normal with social distancing, stay-at-home mandates, school closures, and remote learning.
