As we wrap up another school year, we can definitely agree that this was not a “normal” year.
In September of 2006, we were blessed to have an amazing, talented, loving, compassionate, and powerhouse of a woman join our School. Marta Valdes joined us in our Old Cutler Road Campus Office and truly, she quickly earned everyone’s love and respect. She has been the smile at the gate, in the driveway, on the phone, behind the scenes, walking through the classrooms and on the playgrounds, always looking to help everyone. There are some children who only want Ms. Marta to help them out of the car - she truly has a magic touch and smile!
In April, our students got the chance to participate in a butterfly release! It was so fun to see how they evolved from caterpillars to pretty butterflies ready to spread their wings.
It has been a busy and explosive time at Alexander Montessori School! The Fifth Grade students explored the difference between a physical change and a chemical change by participating in several experiments.
On April 26th, we celebrated Beverley McGhee Day by making special cards to honor such an important person!
Alexander Montessori Families joined together for a Beach Clean-Up at Morningside Park.
Watch out NASA! Look out for the Alexander Montessori School Fifth Grade Rocketeers! They all had a great time launching the rockets they had assembled and painted in Science class!
In preparation for Earth Day, the Alexander Green Committee started a Green Challenge for the Alexander community.
Just before Spring Break, our Lower School students went on a fossil dig. There were discoveries galore!
Our annual Middle School Prep Greek Olympics were so much fun for everyone! Leading up to Spring Break, the students participated in various activities and competitions including swimming, javelin, discus, hurdles, and more!
